If you have found any of the tool designs or software on this website useful, please read this!

Are all these shop tool designs and software products available for free?

From my software development background, I have found the shareware model of software distribution very useful. So many websites offer software or product designs but won't show you the product until you pay. I give you the opportunity to see and try the ideas and design products before spending any money. The ideas and designs presented here are free for personal and non-profit use. Commercial licensing of any Harder Woods products can be negotiated by contacting Stan Harder.

My goal is first to be helpful to the woodturning and woodworking community. Most of what I know about turning has come from fellow woodturners who are very willing to share tricks and techniques. I wish to continue that tradition. However, setting up this website and documenting the many ideas I have takes lots of time. Writing software takes a long time too. So, if you want me to continue this service, please contribute financially. If I get enough suppport, I will continue to develop this website.

If you find any of the ideas or software on this website useful, please make a donation of a few dollars to me, Stan Harder. I suggest at least $10 per idea or product you found useful. But it's up to you.

Disclaimer: Making a donation to Harder Woods should not be interpreted as purchasing a product. The ideas, plans and products presented here are made available free of charge for personal use. The tool designs are presented as a documentary on how I solved a particular woodturning problem. I am not recommending that anyone duplicate my projects without first considering the safety issues and adapting the design to their situation. I can not be held liable for an idea that someone takes and impliments in an unsafe manner. Never build or use a tool that you do not feel safe using. Home made shop tools can be dangerous. When you build your own tools you are taking on the responsibility and liability for their use. Please, if you do build your own tools, build them and operate them in a safe manner.

Commercial licensing of any Harder Woods products can be negotiated by contacting Stan Harder.

Thank you for your support.
